The federal government has begun tracing Nigerian funds that were illegally moved out of the country to foreign nations with the aim of recovering and repatriating them.
Reportedly, the funds were traced to the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland and other European countries where corrupt officials allegedly have been stashing public funds.
On his first day in his Aso Villa office, President Muhammadu Buhari vowed that his administration would recover all the looted funds stashed in foreign banks by corrupt Nigerians.
“The next three months may be hard, but billions of dollars can be recovered, and we will do our best,” said Buhari in a statement signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina.
Earlier, Nigeria’s looted funds have been found in such countries as Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Others are in France, Germany, the British Virgin Islands and other tax havens spread across the globe.
Moreover, Adesina also said the search for the looted funds will not be limited to these countries but anywhere in the world where they may be hidden
.
According to The Punch, anti-corruption agencies will play a prominent role in the exercise targeted at corrupt government officials in the recent past administration and their private sector collaborators, among others.
The federal government is planning to engage the services of foreign private investigators to help trace and find looted funds belonging to the people of Nigeria. Details on The Punch

Meet Man Who Is Married To N1.3m Sex Doll
A young man who is married to a doll has given a breakdown of their daily life.

Dirk and Jenny’s sentiments are: to love one another, to support one another and to share a lot of their private time together.
The only thing that sets them apart is Jenny is a ‘real doll’ that Dirk bought for 6,000 euros (that’s $6,750 and N1.3million).

His reason for the purchase was after he suffered a breakdown from feeling lonely. They have been living together in Dirk’s flat for 4 years now. They tied the knot in Dirk’s flat, and instead of a wedding ring, he gifted her heart shaped pendant on a chain.
A Documentary carried on the couple’s day to day lives by photographer, Sandra Hoyn, discovered the 40-year-old man bathed Jenny on Sundays, they wrote a blog together and watched football in front of the TV side by side. Dirk, however, hasn’t told any of his family or friends, including his child from a previous marriage. When he has guests he conceals her in his bedroom and dims the lights.

The photographer’s biggest challenge, was coming to terms with treating Jenny as the person Dirk sees her to be; to not to just see the doll just as a doll, but to “recognize what the man sees and loves in her”.
She actually started to feel her presence, and when Jenny was put in bed for a ‘sleep’, actually felt her voice volume lowering, afraid of waking her.
“I can’t live without love. My loneliness destroyed me.” Dirk says of his silicone doll. Dirk carrying Jenny into the bathroom. He always has to remove the door so that Jenny fits through. “Jenny is such a sensitive being. She is so helpless.” He said
“Jenny gives me security. I never want to live without her again. I am moved from her words, the purity, serenity and honesty of her speaking”.
“Jenny likes to wear beautiful clothes. But she does not care for brands.” Every Sunday Dirk washes her lace lingerie and wigs.

– USA Legalises Same Sex Marriage Nationwide
The Supreme Court of the United States of America on Friday finally legalised same sex marriage throughout the whole country.
Before the announcement, only states which had passed the legalisation allowed same-couple marriages, but under the new ruling all 50 states in the country would allow same sex marriage.
President Barack Obama
The issue of same sex marriage has led to significant changes in matrimony laws including a court ruling over 50 years ago that legalised interracial marriage.
This new ruling means that the ban on gay marriages in 14 US states has been cancelled. The states which forbid it are geographically situated in the “Bible Belt” areas of the Southern US.
Today’s ruling means the decision from Cincinnati’s Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold the right of states to maintain “the traditional definition of marriage” has been cancelled.
A 5-4 decision with the majority opinion written by Justice Anthony Kennedy made the decision possible.
He wrote of same sex couples: “Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.”
The outcome is the culmination of two decades of Supreme Court debate over marriage, and gay rights generally.
President Obama tweeted the announcement: “Today is a big step in our march toward equality. Gay and lesbian couples now have the right to marry, just like anyone else"
According to Fox President Obama spoke to a crowd outside the supreme court. He called the decision a “victory for America.”
He added: “When all Americans are treated as equal, we are all more free.”
Vice-president Joe Biden in a statement said@:“All marriages, at their root, are about love.”
Buhari Angry Over House Of Reps Fracas, Set To Delay Ministerial List
President Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly angry over the fracas that ensued at the federal house of representatives yesterday.
According to The News, Buhari is also angry over the disrespect accorded the All Progressives Congress (APC) on various positions to be filled in both Chambers of the Nigerian legislature.
With both chambers announcing an adjournment till 21 July, Buhari’s ministerial list will also have to be delayed for at least one month or even till after the Ramadan fasting period.
The 7th Senate under Senator David Mark approved in early June, Buhari’s request for 15 special advisers. Out of the list, Buhari has only appointed a special adviser on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adeshina.
Speaking through another media aide, Garba Shehu, recently, Buhari had blamed the crisis in the senate as part of the reasons for the delay in unveiling ministerial nominees.
Although, the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, has described the ongoing tension in the national assembly as a disagreement that is in the interest of Nigeria.
Cancer Patient And His Girlfriend Tie The Knot In Hospital : A 16-year-old girl has fulfilled her boyfriend’s last wish by marrying him in hospital – just days before he died, Birmingham, England, UK.
Amie Cresswell and Omar Al Shaikh were dating for eight months and decided to tie the knot afer the boy’s doctors warned he had less than a week to live. Omar was suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia for more than a year and his only hope was to find a stem cell donor but, unfortunately, it did not happen.
When the 16-year-olds heard the terrible news they immediately asked the permission of their parents for a wedding – and they could not refuse. Omar proposed to Amie and the next day they tied the knot in the hospital surrounded by friends and family members. Three days after their big day Omar passed away, his mother Mirabela and new wife were with him at that moment.
Devastated Amie said: “I’m still absolutely heartbroken. Omar wanted to get married before he died and when he proposed I just jumped at the chance. We had talked about getting married but never imagined we would be 16. We thought we would grow old together. When he was told the disease had come back it was just a massive shock.
“I knew I wanted to stand by him through it all. He is such a lovely soul – wanted to spend as much time as I had with him as possible. As he put the ring on my finger he said he wished he had more time with me. I wish we had, too, but I’m so glad we had the chance to make this happy memory.”

ELEVEN HINTS OF LIFE
1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.
2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.
3. Tha best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.
4. It’s true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives.
5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
6. Don’t go for looks, they can decieve. Don’t go for wealth even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem unbright.
7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
8. Always put yourself in other’s shoes…….if you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.
9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel world may wreck a life. A timely world may level stress, but a loving word may heal & bless.
10. The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you were crying & everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you are the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
Japanese women go ape over 'handsome' gorilla named Shabani
An Australian-raised gorilla is winning hearts in Japan where his good-looks have made him a hit with female zoo-goers.
Shabani, a western lowland gorilla born in the Netherlands and raised in a Sydney zoo, is popular for his handsome looks and dramatic poses, with local admirers dubbing him an “ikemen”, or “good-looking man”.
The gorilla lives in Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya, Japan, where he moved in 2007 after spending his formative years at Taronga Zoo on the shores of Sydney Harbour.
And while the 18-year-old has local women enthralled, Shabani may have been a late bloomer.
“I have seen quite an early photo of him and he's not the handsome man that he is today,” Madeleine Smitham, a media relations officer at Taronga Zoo
“He certainly didn’t have quite the same following here that he has in Japan.”
On Twitter many Japanese women have tweeted praise and pictures of Shabani, Mail Online reported, including one women who wrote: "I went to Higashiyama Zoo. This hot Shabani ikemen was certainly handsome."
Another female visitor shared an image of the zoo with her friends and the caption: "The meeting of going to see the handsome gorilla Shabani... it was a fun holiday."
Shabani arrived at Taronga Zoo as a baby with another silverback, Kibabu, who is now living out his “retirement” at a zoo on the NSW south coast, explained another staffer, Paul Fahy.
“Obviously western lowland gorillas are a critically endangered species, so Taronga’s part of a coordinated breeding programme. The decision was made for Shabani to go to Japan as part of the breeding program, which is all about ensuring genetic diversity,” Fahy said.
This is not the first time Shabani has gone viral. “There was a video a couple of years ago of him tightrope walking at the zoo in Japan,” Fahy said.
Back in Sydney, Shabani may have some competition. “We’ve now got a young aspiring silverback here now, who we like to think is quite dashing in his own way,” Fahy said.
That’s Kibali, a French-born western lowland gorilla.
And in perhaps heartening news for the men of Japan, there is currently no plan to send Kibali overseas.

Kwablah has also threatened to release a sex tape of the couple, from the time they had a relationship, which supposedly began in February. A case of blackmail was subsequently filed by Asamoah Gyan’s lawyer, Kissi Adjabeng, at the Ordorkor Police Station.
The captain of the national Ghanaian football team, Asamoah Gyan, has recently been charged by police for the rape and sodomy of Sarah Kwablah, a 22 year old student at the University of Ghana. Kwablah’s lawyer, Maurice Ampaw, said the complaint was made two days ago at the Victim Support Unit (DOOVSU) of the Ministry Police Station in Accra.
Gyan has admitted to having sex with Sarah Kwablah. However, he claims that the sex was entirely consensual.
Kwablah, is also accusing Gyan of fathering her pregnancy. Hospital scans have shown that she is indeed pregnant but Gyan claims that the child is not his. He has demanded a paternity test to determine the veracity of her claims. Reports say he is prepared to take responsibility of the child if it is proven that he is the father.
According to numerous reports, Kwablah is also asking for a fully furnished apartment, a housemaid, and a $1,000 monthly stipend from Gyan. The Black Stars captain, Gyan, has called the demands outrageous.

The real dangers of smoking cannabis
The possession and use of cannabis is illegal in Nigeria, but despite this it is still one of the commonest illicit drugs abused in the country. Its use can lead to multiple health and psychiatric complications.
“Although cannabis is viewed as an innocent herb by many, there is increasing concern about adverse health consequences,” says Dr Lize Weich, senior psychiatrist and lecturer at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
Many users become dependent on cannabis, it is estimated that about one in nine cannabis users will become dependent, while those who start using it in their teens have a one in six chance to become dependent. It is also linked to other medical complications, including heart attacks (one study found a nearly five-fold increased risk for this in the hour after use), as well as arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) and strokes.
Smoking is the most common route of delivery of cannabis, so it is not surprising that lung problems, like chest infections, chronic bronchitis and emphysema are common among cannabis users.
Cannabis smoke also contains carcinogens (cancer causing agents) similar to that found in tobacco smoke and that may predispose an individual to lung cancer.
Cannabis use impairs driving ability and users are at a higher risk of car accidents.
Its use in pregnancy has been linked with neuro-behavioural problems in children.
“Furthermore, cannabis intoxication can lead to multiple psychiatric complications, like panic, anxiety, depression or psychotic symptoms,” Weich explains. Heavy cannabis use has been linked to reduced pro-social goal-directed behaviour (when individuals select actions based on their predicted consequences), apathy and diminished drive, referred to by some as the “amotivational syndrome”.
Long-term cannabis use can also affect memory and the ability to process information.
The developing adolescent brain is particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of cannabis use. “It is the most common illicit drug used by this group and has been linked with poor educational attainment, dropping out of school, later unemployment and lower life satisfaction and even with a decline in IQ,” says Weich.
Adolescent onset cannabis use has also been linked to various psychiatric problems in this age group, including an increased risk of developing schizophrenia and an increased risk of developing – a brain disorder which affects the way a person behaves, thinks and sees the world.
Although the cannabis plant contains in excess of 400 compounds, the most potent agent is delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
THC acts by activating the endocannabinoid receptor system, a delicate system that modulates the balance in other neurotransmitter systems, thereby ensuring optimal functioning of multiple biological functions including learning, memory, stress, appetite, movement and pain perception.
There is some potential medicinal benefit
Weich emphasizes that although there are some early studies that suggest potential medicinal benefit from cannabis use, including relief of neuropathic pain, increasing appetite and treating glaucoma, there is not yet sufficient evidence to support its efficacy and rule out harms and human trials in this regard is still largely lacking.
She says there is concern about the popular belief that cannabis is “medicinal” and thus “harmless and safe”, especially among children and adolescents. Studies have shown that this vulnerable population’s risk of use is influenced by how safely they perceive a drug to be.
“It is clear that legalising cannabis for medicinal use is an important topic that needs careful consideration. Much more research is required to establish efficacy along with a clear public message highlighting risks, especially among the youth,” says Weich.

Independent labels sign to Apple Music in dramatic U-turn
Apple Music has successfully struck a deal with independent labels following the company's decision to pay artists during its three-month trial period
Apple Music has successfully struck deals with independent labels in the wake of Taylor Swift's scathing attack on the service for withholding payment from artists during the service's three-month free trial period.
Independent digital rights organisation Merlin's chief executive Charles Caldas said Apple's change of heart to pay artists throughout the period meant they were "happy to support the deal" in a letter to members.
"I am pleased to say that Apple has made a decision to pay for all usage of Apple Music under the free trials on a per-play basis, as well as to modify a number of other terms that members had been communicating directly with Apple about. With these changes, we are happy to support the deal," he wrote in the letter seen by Billboard .
Merlin represents the interests of 20,000 independent labels worldwide, and claims to "enchance their ability to compete in the ever changing world of digital music."

"As you know Merlin has not historically had a direct contract with Apple. Apple has direct deals with our members, and that continues to be the case," he added. "Therefore, the amendments referred to above will apply to your existing direct agreements, and the amended contract will shortly appear on iTunes Connect. However, Apple has indicated that in the future they are open to engaging with Merlin as a central point of communication and negotiation for our membership." The organisation declined to comment.
Apple announced its new streaming and digital radio service announced at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) earlier this month.
Earlier this week pop superstar Taylor Swift accused Apple of asking artists to “ work for nothing” and branded them “shocking” and “disappointing”.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of internet software and services, responded via Twitter on Monday morning , saying: “Apple will always make sure that artist [sic] are paid.
“Apple Music will pay artist [sic] for streaming, even during customer’s free trial period," he added. “We hear you Taylor Swift and indie artists. Love, Apple."
Swift, who had withheld her latest album , 1989, from Apple Music, said she was “elated and relieved” at the response. She withdrew her music from Spotify last year in protest at the Swedish company’s refusal to make it unavailable to those who use a free, advertising-supported version of the service. It remains unknown whether she will change her mind and allow her backcatalogue onto the service.
Andy Heath, chairman of industry lobby group UK Music had previously told the Telegraph that under the service's original terms Apple Music would leave them "completely screwed" and struggling to survive.
“If you are running a small label on tight margins you literally can’t afford to do this free trial business," he said at the time. "Their plan is clearly to move people over from downloads, which is fine, but it will mean us losing those revenues for three months.”

Buhari Vows To Recover Billions Of Dollars In The Next Three Months.
Buhari vows To Recover Billions Of Dollars Stolen By President Jonathan And His Ministers In The Next Three Months
President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Abuja assured State Governors that the days of impunity, lack of accountability, and fiscal recklessness in the management of national resources are over in Nigeria.
Speaking at a meeting with the Governors in the Presidential Villa, President Buhari also vowed that funds stolen by government officials who abused their offices in the recent past will be recovered and systemic leakages stopped.
"There are financial and administrative instructions in every government parastatal and agency. But all these were thrown to the dogs in the past. Honestly, our problems are great, but we will do our best to surmount them.
"The next three months may be hard, but billions of dollars can be recovered, and we will do our best, " the President told the governors.
Expressing surprise that the governors had tolerated the atrocities allegedly committed with the Excess Crude Account since 2011, President Buhari promised to tackle the issue decisively.
The President declared that the payment of national revenue into any account other than the Federation Account was an abuse of the constitution, adding that what he had heard was going on in many agencies and corporations, particularly the NNPC, was clearly illegal.
On the refund of monies spent on federal projects by state governments, President Buhari assured the governors that the Federal Government will pay, but insisted that due process must be followed.
The President promised special assistance for the three North Eastern states badly affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
He also said that a comprehensive statement on the economic and financial situation inherited by his administration will be made to the nation within the next four weeks.
"We will try and put the system back into the right position. What happened in the 2nd Republic has apparently happened again, and even worse, but we will restore sanity to the system," President Buhari assured the Governors.
On an immediate lifeline for states that owe salaries running into many months, President Buhari said that a committee headed by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, will look at the Excess Crude Account and see what can be shared immediately.
The governors, led by Chairman of the Governors Forum, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, had presented a wish list to the President that included:
Ø Obedience of extant Supreme Court ruling that all monies go into the Consolidated Federation Account;
Ø An order from the President that all revenue generating agencies must pay into the Consolidated Federation Account;
Ø Review of the Revenue Allocation Formula;
Ø Refund of the monies expended by states on federal projects;
Ø A special consideration for the three states of the North East under Boko Haram infestation;
Ø Full details of the amounts that accrued into the Excess Crude Account from 2011, and how the money miraculously shrank without official sharing.
